Howto upgrade your LedgerSMB

Posted by suvi under Software

LedgerSMB is a fork of a popular general ledger software package called SQL-Ledger largely written and maintained by Dieter Simader. SMB is an acronym for Small Medium Business.

I need to upgrade my LedgerSMB installation, but I dint find any easy tutorial, how to made this upgrade. But is very simple.

I have LedgerSMB installed at my server under /user/local/ledgersmb
So I downloaded latest LedgerSMB archive to /usr/local directory:
wget http://ovh.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/ledger-smb/ledgersmb-1.2.16.tar.gz

Now I extract this archive:
tar -xzf ledgersmb-1.2.16.tar.gz

And thats all – its extracted LedgerSMB archive directly to my installation at /usr/local/ledgersmb

Second possibility is to extract archive somewhere else and then move all files to /usr/local/ledgersmb

And now I can delete the downloaded archive file:
rm -rf ledgersmb-1.2.16.tar.gz
