GNU Screen is an extremely versatile tool for running multiple terminal sessions within a single one and also offers many advanced terminal features.

I have covered GNU Screen for running remote commands previously, but I have not given a full beginner’s getting started guide to using the program.

So, let this tutorial serve as a long overdue return for FOSSwire Video.

In this video tutorial, I aim to take the Screen beginner so that they can start the program and set up multiple sessions within it. They will learn how to switch between the different sessions that are running and how to edit the title of each one for better organisation. Finally, they will learn how to detach and reattach from Screen.
